IMPORTANT JUNE 8 UPDATE:  Due to the amount of snow pack that is still on top of Mount Seymour, our June 17th race is moving venues, and we're headed back to Golden Ears, in Maple Ridge.

Same date, same great souveniers (Swiftwick Socks!), just a different start/finish line area.
There is over 5 feet of snow on some of the trails at MT Seymour, and we were hoping with a slightly later date and some warm weather that the snow would disappear, but unfortunately it is not safe for us to run a race on the course under current conditions.
I begged and pleaded with Golden Ears to move the race there, and they are willing to do so, if we promise to do a great job of carpooling and not taking over the entire park on a Saturday in June. So, please head over to our Facebook regional group and set up your rides: https://www.facebook.com/groups/5PeaksVancouver/

The added benefits of moving the race to Golden Ears:
1) Zero % chance of postholing (falling through the snow!). Best news - there's NO snow on course, and so there's no chance of falling through the slushy snow, cutting up your legs, and getting some nice snow rash.

2) Chance to have a rematch with your May Golden Ears race time. How often do you get to go out and race the exact same course 5 weeks later? You know where you can pick up the pace, you know what to expect, and you're ready to crush it. As an added bonus, I'll be rewarding the "most improved" time from last month to this month, in each of the division's with a special prize.
3) Excellent post-race BBQ and swimming area! Alouette Lake is an absolutely beautiful spot for a post-race picnic and dip in the lake. If we were on top of Mount Seymour we'd be battling the bugs, and not able to put our feet in some wonderful cold lake water after beating them up on the trails.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation!  Solana and Jay.
