OOPS!

PLEASE NOTE: For this Kortright race event, it is a 7km combined Sport/Enduro -or- Half Marathon. We mistakenly mentioned there would be a 14km race in some of our messaging. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

WE ARE PROUDLY A CUP-FREE EVENT!

For all races and events, please bring your own reusable cup/container. Thank-you for being a part of our commitment to the environment!

Description:

The Kortright Centre for Conservation is Ontario's premier environmental and renewable energy education and demonstration centre. Situated just 10 minutes north of Toronto, on 325 hectares of pristine woodlands, Kortright Centre combines a natural oasis with some of the most leading edge sustainable education programs and events in Canada. On the route, explore forests and meadows, follow the boardwalk through the marsh and take in the scenery and wildlife as you tackle a mix of groomed hard packed double-wide trail and the gnarly ups and downs of the single track sections. This place is a hidden gem in the big city.

For our final race of the series we have a single distance 7KM challenge for both the Sport and Enduro runners to go head-to-head and test their speed and turnover over varied terrain of Kortright. We are also offering a cool Half Marathon option to challenge your endurance over a longer distance (this race is three loops of the 7KM course - the perfect opportunity to work on pacing and race strategy for your long distance fall races).

Park admission will be added to the race fee at time of registration. All race participants will be admitted to the park at no extra charge on race day. Spectators will need pay the park entrance fee at arrival on race day.

The Kortright course is a lovely mix of fast twisty hard packed single tracked and wide open double track covering every type of terrain from soft pine needles to challenging roots and rocks. There are hills to thrill and boardwalks to challenge (be very careful when wet, the boardwalks can get slippery). Best of all is the sense of calm when running through the forests and meadows. It is a moment of Zen in the urban back yard.

For those who like to learn on the run, the conservation area contains Canada's largest educational demonstrations of renewable energy and energy efficient technologies.
