Description:

Heart Lake Conservation Area takes its name from the spring-fed kettle lake, which is roughly shaped like a heart. Located within the Etobicoke Creek watershed, this park is a popular destination for residents of Peel Region, with more than five million visitors since it opened in 1957. The park is also very popular with anglers in the area as it is stocked with hundreds of rainbow trout each year.  

Park admission will be added to the race fee at time of registration. All race participants will be admitted to the park at no extra charge on race day. Spectators will need pay the park entrance fee at arrival on race day.

45 minutes from Toronto on Hwy 410.

Event Schedule:

8:00 AM - Packet Pickup for All Events
9:00 AM - Start of 3KM Kids Timed Event
9:30 AM - Start of Children's Challenge ( Free Kids Event )
10:00 AM - Start of the Sport and Enduro Races together
10:30 AM - Post race food & beverage available in race compound
12:15 PM - Awards Ceremony


Terrain:

Combination of single-track, x-country ski trails, and hiking trails, a true trail run from start to finish!

First Aid & Water Stations:

2 Water stations - one at Start Finish area and one on course. First Aid attendants at the Start/Finish area, at aid station and throughout course with radio communication. Course sweep will travel behind last racer.

 

Washrooms:

Washroom facilities and outhouses available at Start / Finish area.

 

Parking:

Free parking is available but limited. Please car pool. Go to the Birchmount parking area, near the Wild Wetland Splash and Pool.

Important Notes:

In the interest of racer safety and because of the size of our attendance and the technicality of our course, it’s dangerous! 

NONE OF THESE THINGS BELONG ON THE TRAIL DURING THE RACE:

  • No dogs
  • No headphones
  • No strollers or baby joggers
  • No nordic walking poles

 

Spectators:

Spectators are welcome. Spectators who cheer will be rewarded with smiles.

 

Awards & Prizes:

Awards ceremony will be held following completion of all competitors (Approximately 12:15pm). Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category in all distances, as well as top three male and female finishers overall. All awards must be picked up at the race and will not be mailed.
