Description:

Golden Ears Provincial Park is a Provincial Park in British Columbia, Canada at 555.9 km². It is named after the prominent twin peaks which are commonly referred to as Golden Ears.



Directions:

Golden Ears Provincial Park lies in the Coast Mountains 11 km north of Maple Ridge on the north side of the Fraser River. Access to the park is by vehicle via Highway 7 or Dewdney Trunk Road through the Municipality of Maple Ridge. If heading west, turn right onto 232nd and if heading east, turn left onto 232nd; then turn right onto Fern Crescent and follow road into park.

Event Schedule:

7:00 AM - Packet Pickup for all Events (No Race Day Registration)
8:15 AM - Start of the 3km Kids Timed Event
8:45 AM - Start of the Children's Challenge (Free Kids Event)
8:45 AM - Packet Pickup Closes
9:00 AM - Start for the Enduro Event
9:15 AM - Start for the Sport
9:30 AM - Post race food & beverage available in race compound
11:30 AM - Awards Ceremony: time is approximate


Terrain:

Combination of single / double track terrain. Moderate technical difficulty.


Elevation Gain:

Enduro Course: 550m
Sport Course: 324m
 

First Aid & Water Stations:

Enduro course has two water stations, Sport has one water station. First Aid attendants at the Start/Finish area, at aid station and throughout course with radio communication. Course sweep will travel behind last racer.
 

Washrooms:

Washroom facilities and outhouses available at Start / Finish area.

 

Parking:

Parking Lot 2 near the Start / Finish area. 2 minute walk to check in, car pool to minimize our impact.

Important Notes:

In the interest of racer safety and because of the size of our attendance and the technicality of our course, it's dangerous!

NONE OF THESE THINGS BELONG ON THE TRAIL DURING THE RACE.

  • No dogs
  • No headphones
  • No strollers or baby joggers
  • No nordic walking poles

 

Spectators:

Spectators Welcome...best viewing from start/finish area.

Awards & Prizes:

Awards ceremony will be held following completion of all competitors. (Approximately 11:30 am). Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category in all distances, as well as top three male and female finishers overall. All awards must be picked up at the race and will not be mailed.
