Description:

Dundas Valley is a 1200 hectare conservation area and is part of a glacial valley featuring lush Carolinian forests, colourful meadows, cold-water streams, geological formations, ruins and a Victorian-inspired railway station. The natural environment here and along the Niagara Escarpment has been designated a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.

Event Schedule:

8:00 AM - Packet Pickup for All Events (Registration for 1 KM event)
9:00 AM - Start of Children's Challenge (Free Kids Event)
9:30 AM - Start of 3KM Kids Timed Event
10:00 AM - Start of the Sport and Enduro events
10:30 AM - Post race food & beverage available in race compound
12:15 PM - Awards Ceremony for 3K, Sport and Enduro


Terrain:

The course is hard packed dirt and grass double track - the perfect route to test your SPEED and control on the straightaways and hills. 

Sport (one loop) and Enduro (two loops) route follows the Main Trail and Sawmill Trail, both run in a clockwise direction. Kids 3K is 1.5 km out and back on the Main Trail, in a clockwise direction.

First Aid & Water Stations:

1 Water/Aid Station mid way through course/loop. First Aid attendants at the Start/Finish area, at aid station and throughout course with radio communication. Course sweep will travel behind last racer.

 

Washrooms:

Washroom facilities and outhouses available at Start/Finish area.

 

Parking:

Parking is extremely limited. Carpooling only - no single occupant vehicles will be admitted, minimum two runners per vehicle with priority (closer lot) parking to vehicles with three runners. Plan in advance to share a car or better yet, ride your bike! Find carpool buddies on our Southern Ontario FaceBook page.

Important Notes:

In the interest of racer safety and because of the size of our attendance and the technicality of our course, it’s dangerous! 

NONE OF THESE THINGS BELONG ON THE TRAIL DURING THE RACE:

  • No dogs
  • No headphones
  • No strollers or baby joggers
  • No nordic walking poles

 

Spectators:

Spectators are welcome. Spectators who cheer will be rewarded with smiles.

 

Awards & Prizes:

Awards ceremony will be held following completion of all competitors (Approximately 12:15pm). Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category in all distances, as well as top three male and female finishers overall. All awards must be picked up at the race and will not be mailed.
