Description:

The Canmore Nordic Centre is Canada's premier cross country skiing and biathlon venue. Having hosted the nordic and biathlon events of the '88 Winter Olympics the Centre is host to regional, national and international events every winter.

*Please remember that the Nordic Centre requires that all racers carry bear spray during their run. This is a rule that applies to all events held at the Canmore Nordic Centre. If you have any questions about this, please call the Canmore Nordic Centre directly at 403-678-2400. Children are not required to carry bear spray. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation!

Make it a Trail Running Weekend - Stay for the Trails in Motion Film Festival on Saturday night and Canmore Trail Culture Sunday Brunch Run!

TRAILS IN MOTION, the world's trail running film festival, is coming to Canmore on Saturday June 11, proudly presented by Canmore Trail Culture.  The screening will take place at artsplace and will begin at 7pm.  Doors open at 630pm.  Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online here.

There are seven excellent films to enjoy, inspire and motivate and the opportunity to win prizes generously donated by 5Peaks and other sponsors.

Follow Highway 1 West from Calgary for approximately 1 hour, it's located just five minutes from the amenities of the Town of Canmore.

Canmore Nordic Centre, Start Finish area is staged in the Stadium near main day lodge.

Event Schedule:

7:30am - Packet Pick Up for all events (NO race day registration)
8:15am - Start of the 3km Kids Timed Event
8:30am - Start of the 1km Children’s Challenge
8:45am - Packet Pick Up Closes
9:00am - Start of the Enduro Event (self seeded mass start)
9:15am - Start of the Sport Event (self seeded mast start)
9:30am - 3km Kids Awards
10:00am - Post Race food & beverage available in the Expo
10:30am - Verify Results for Podium winners (Top 3 in each category)
10:35am - Awards Start
 


Terrain:

Combination of groomed double-track & single track mountain bike & x-country ski trails.


Elevation Gain:

Enduro Course: 600m
Sport Course: 175m

 

First Aid & Water Stations:

1 Water/Aid Station on course at 3km mark. First Aid attendants at the Start/Finish area, at aid station and throughout course with radio communication. Course sweep will travel behind last racer.

In Main Day Lodge

 

Parking:

Park in main or overflow parking areas near main day lodge.

 

Important Notes:

In the interest of racer safety and because of the size of our attendance and the technicality of our course, it’s dangerous! 

NONE OF THESE THINGS BELONG ON THE TRAIL DURING THE RACE:

  • No dogs
  • No headphones
  • No strollers or baby joggers
  • No nordic walking poles

Important Notice:

As per Canmore Nordic Centre policy, all event participants must carry bear spray. As such, and beyond our control, we are requiring all of our sport, enduro and half marathon (September) participants to carry bear spray. Children participants in the 1 km and 3 km events are not required to carry bear spray but we will be providing additional volunteers (who will carry bear spray) to assist on these courses.

Awards & Prizes:

Awards ceremony will be held following completion of all competitors. (Approximately 12:00pm). Medals are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category in all distances, as well as top three male and female finishers overall. All awards must be picked up at the race and will not be mailed.
