2010 Camp Fortune Race Details

Date: Saturday, August 21, 2010
Location: Camp Fortune offers over 20 km of mountain bike trails, conveniently located only 15 minutes from downtown Ottawa in Canada's Capital Region.

Directions: If in Ottawa take Hwy 417 to the Nicolas Exit and go north.
Go east on Laurier East to King Edward.
Stay on KE over the Mackenzie King Bridge where it changes to Hwy 5.
Continue on 5 through Hull, then take the Old Chelsea exit (Meech Lake Rd.)
Continue on Meech Lake Rd. through Old Chelsea village and into Gatineau Park.
Watch for signs for the Fortune Lake Parkway and the downhill ski resort, Camp Fortune.
Turn left into it.
From the parking lot entrance you should see a huge chalet. Park near it.
Enter there for registration.
Event Schedule:
8:00 AM -Registration / Packet Pickup for the Children’s Challenge, Sport and Enduro
9:30 AM -Start of the Children’s Challenge 1K and any participants planning to walk the Sport or Enduro course.
9:45 AM -Sport & Enduro Pre-Race Briefing
10:00 AM -Start of both the Sport & Enduro race
10:15 AM -Post race food & beverage available in race compound
11:30 AM -Awards Ceremony

Terrain:
Elevation Gain: Sport Course: 1010 feet
Enduro Course: 2020 feet
First Aid & Water Stations: 2 Water/Aid Stations(1 at start / finish area, and 1mid way through course). First Aid attendants at the Start/Finish area, at aid station and throughout course with radio communication. Course sweep will travel behind last racer.
Washrooms: At Start/Finish area
Parking: Lots of parking available.
Important Notes: This is a trail race with natural hazards on the course, so please be alert while racing. For the safety of yourself and others, please no headphones, strollers, dogs or nordic walking poles.
Spectators: Spectators are welcome: best viewing from Start/Finish area.
Awards/Prizes: Awards ceremony will be held following completion of all competitors. (Approximately 12:00pm). Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category in all distances, as well as top three male and female finishers overall.
All awards must be picked up at the race and will not be mailed.
