Race Facts

Scotiabank Children's Challenge: 5 Peaks continues to promote family participation. Children up to 10 years of age are eligible for entry into the Scotiabank Children's Challenge. Each participant receives a kit, containing a number bib, pins, and some goodies from 5 Peaks. All participants receive a finisher's ribbon at the finish line. This years entry fee is $5. Registration is available online, and on race day morning. Don't miss this race day favorite!

Note: The park admission of $6.00 per person will be added to the race fee at time of registration. All race participants will be admitted to the park at no extra charge on race day.

Location: Ontario's first Conservation Area, Albion Hills is set in the Caledon Hills on the banks of the Humber River. The 446-hectare park is the outdoor enthusiast's dream!

Directions: Race Location:

from Toronto: up Hwy 400 to Hwy 9, west on 9 to Hwy 50, south a few km to Albion Hills Conservation Area (about 45 min. from Yonge/401)
from Toronto (a bit shorter than #1): up Hwy 400 to Sideroad 11 (at King City cutoff); take it west to Hwy 50 (north end of Bolton), 8k from here on your left
from southwest of Toronto: up Hwy 410 to King St. (north of Brampton), east on King to Bolton, north on Bolton 8 km
from Barrie: south on Hwy 400 to Hwy 9, west on 9 to Hwy 50, south a few km to Albion Hills Conservation Area

7:30 AM -Registration / Packet Pickup for the Children’s Challenge, Sport, Enduro and 1/2 Marathon
8:45 AM -1/2 Marathon Pre-Race Briefing
8:55 AM -Elite Self Seeding Line up at Start Line for ½ Marathon
9:00 AM -START 1/2 Marathon
9:30 AM -Start of the Children’s Challenge 1K and any participants planning to walk the Sport or Enduro course.
9:45 AM -Sport & Enduro Pre-Race Briefing
9:55 AM -Elite Self Seeding Line up at Start Line for Sport and Enduro
10:00 AM -Start of both the Sport & Enduro race

Terrain: Beautiful single track, well groomed trails, some stairs, some wooden boardwalks, and a few viewing platforms and lookouts just for good measure!
Elevation Gain: Sport Course: Total Elevation 210 ft
Enduro Course: Total Elevation 853 ft
1/2 Marathon: not available
First Aid & Water Stations: 2 Water/Aid Stations(1 at start / finish area, and 1mid way through course). First Aid attendants at the Start/Finish area, at aid station and throughout course with radio communication. Course sweep will travel behind last racer.
Washrooms: Washroom facilities and outhouses available at Start / Finish area.
Parking: Plenty of parking at entrance to park
Important Notes: In the interest of racer safety and because of the size of our attendance and the technicality of our course, it’s dangerous! NONE OF THESE THINGS BELONG ON THE TRAIL DURING THE RACE.

-No strollers or baby joggers
-No nordic walking poles
Spectators: Spectators Welcome...best viewing from start/finish area.
Awards/Prizes: Awards ceremony will be held following completion of all competitors. (Approximately 11:00am). Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category in all distances, as well as top three male and female finishers overall.
All awards must be picked up at the race and will not be mailed.
