Note:	A gondola upload fee of $10.00 per person will be added to the race fee at time of registration. All race participants will be receive their upload tickets at racer check in, and there will be no extra charges on race day.

Directions:	Hwy #1 westbound and follow the signs to Squamish & Whistler. Hwy #1 turns into Hwy 99 heading N to Whistler. Approximately 1.5 hour drive from Vancouver.
Event Schedule:	7:00 AM - Registration / Packet Pickup for the Children’s Challenge, Sport and Enduro at Salomon Store Whistler Village 9:00 AM - Racers upload on Whistler Gondola. All racers must upload by 10:00am. Parents/guardians of Children’s Challenge participants may upload with participants. 10:00 AM - Spectators upload on Whistler Gondola 10:30 AM - Start of the Children’s Challenge 1K and any participants planning to walk the Sport or Enduro course. 10:45 AM - Sport & Enduro Pre-Race Briefing 10:55 AM - Elite Self Seeding Line up at Start Line 11:00 AM - Start of both the Sport & Enduro race 11:15 AM - Post race food & beverage available in race compound 1:00 PM - Awards Ceremony – Glacier View Patio

Terrain:	Race atop Whistler mountain! Both courses will start and finish in the upper alpine...some steep climbs, sharp descents and craggy wilderness trails. Trails rocky and technical in some sections.
Elevation Gain:	Sport Course: Total Elevation Gain 297m Enduro Course: Total Elevation Gain 760m
First Aid & Water Stations:	2 Water/Aid Stations(1 at start / finish area, and 1mid way through course). First Aid attendants at the Start/Finish area, at aid station and throughout course with radio communication. Course sweep will travel behind last racer.
Washrooms:	At Round House Lodge...visit them before proceeding to Start / Finish line.
Parking:	PAY Parking Whistler Day Lot parking lots.
Important Notes:	In the interest of racer safety and because of the size of our attendance and the technicality of our course, it’s dangerous! NONE OF THESE THINGS BELONG ON THE TRAIL DURING THE RACE. -No dogs -No headphones -No strollers or baby joggers -No nordic walking poles
Spectators:	Spectators are welcome, best viewing from start/finish area.
Awards/Prizes:	Awards ceremony will be held following completion of all competitors. (Approximately 1:00pm). Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category in all distances, as well as top three male and female finishers overall. All awards must be picked up at the race and will not be mailed.

Course Details

This year we have developed an amazing off road experience for you...

Some steep climbs, sharp descents and craggy wilderness trails…you will be treated to tremendous views of ancient glaciers, snowcapped peaks, dormant volcanoes and the beautiful Coast Mountain Range. This years race is not to be missed!

A few very important reminders:

 
• Both the Sport and Enduro races will start at 11:00am Saturday August 21st at the Roundhouse on top of Whistler Mountain (actual Start/Finish line is located about 300metres away at the top of the Red Chair). (Children’s Challenge starts at 10:30am) You must check in, get your race number, timing chip and upload pass prior to Saturday morning at 9:30am. Uploading to the Roundhouse will start at 9:00am, and all racers must be uploaded to the top of the mountain by 10:00am. The upload fee is included in your registration fee, and you will be given your upload ticket at check in.

• SAVE! All racers will also be given one guest $5.00 off discount coupon for the Gondola for your cheering squad, so bring your fans up with you! We will also be handing out discount coupons for store promotions. Not to worry, you’ll get everything in your race kit when you check in. In addition, all racers will get recieve 10% off all merchandise at the Whistler Village Salomon Store!

• RACE CHECK IN will be available Friday August 20th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Race Day, from 7:30 am to 9:30am. at the at the Salomon Store in Whistler Village (located in the Lobby Level of the Pan Pacific Hotel). PARKING is available in Whistler Day Lot parking lots, but no over night parking is available.

• NO CHANGES to registrations will be accepted on race day, the deadline for switching course distances is Wednesday Aug 18th at 6:00pm

• BAG CHECK will be available at the top of Whistler Mountain, by going to the big white Demo Dome Tent on your way up to the Red Chair (Start / Finish Area). We’ll have a volunteer there to take your bag and give you a ticket.

• START / FINISH AREA has been moved up to the top of the Red Chair this year as the construction near the Roundhouse Lodge for the Peak to Peak Chair is well underway.

• WATER/REFRESH will be available at two aid stations on course. (One 2km in on both the Sport and Enduro course and the other is 8km in on the Enduro course). Due to the elevation and sometimes extreme upper alpine conditions we STRONGLY recommend that you run with your own water.

• HEADPHONES are not recommended. We know some of you love to run with your favorite tunes, and we ask that if you absolutely have to; you respect other runners…keeping the volume down to a level that allows you to hear others around you, should they need to pass, need your help, or other wise need to get your attention. The upper alpine trails are very narrow and quite remote, and the area is very sensitive, making passing difficult. Please stay on the trails, and be courteous to runners wanting to get by.

• AWARDS will take place immediately after the race (approximately 1:00pm) at the Roundhouse Lodge – on the Glacier View Patio. Food and beverages are available while we hand out the awards medals and great prizing.
