Scotiabank Children's Challenge: 5 Peaks continues to promote family participation. Children up to 10 years of age are eligible for entry into the Scotiabank Children's Challenge. Each participant receives a kit, containing a number bib, pins, and some goodies from 5 Peaks. All participants receive a finisher's ribbon at the finish line. This years entry fee is $5. Registration is available online, and on race day morning. Don't miss this race day favorite!

Golden Ears Provincial Park, Maple Ridge, BC.

Directions:

Golden Ears Provincial Park lies in the Coast Mountains 11 km north of Maple Ridge on the north side of the Fraser River. Access to the park is by vehicle via Highway 7 or Dewdney Trunk Road through the Municipality of Maple Ridge. If heading west, turn right onto 232nd and if heading east, turn left onto 232nd; then turn right onto Fern Crescent and follow road into park.

7:00 AM -	Registration / Packet Pickup for the Children�s Challenge, Sport and Enduro
8:30 AM -	Start of the Children�s Challenge 1K and any participants planning to walk the Sport or Enduro course.
8:45 AM -	Sport & Enduro Pre-Race Briefing
8:55 AM -	Elite Self Seeding Line up at Start Line
9:00 AM -	Start of both the Sport & Enduro race
9:15 AM -	Post race food & beverage available in race compound
10:22 AM -	english test
11:00 AM -	Awards Ceremony

Terrain:

Combination of single / double track terrain. Moderate technical difficulty.

Elevation Gain:

Sport Course: Total elevation gain 292m
Enduro Course: Total elevation gain 682m

First Aid & Water Stations:

2 Water/Aid Stations(1 at start / finish area, and 1mid way through course). First Aid attendants at the Start/Finish area, at aid station and throughout course with radio communication. Course sweep will travel behind last racer.

Washrooms:

Washroom facilities and outhouses available at Start / Finish area.

Parking:

Parking Lot 2 near the Start / Finish area. 2 minute walk to check in area on beach! Please be advised BC Parks PARKING FEE IN EFFECT!...so car pool and save a few dollars.

Important Notes:

In the interest of racer safety and because of the size of our attendance and the technicality of our course, it�s dangerous! NONE OF THESE THINGS BELONG ON THE TRAIL DURING THE RACE.
-No dogs
-No headphones
-No strollers or baby joggers
-No nordic walking poles

Spectators:

Spectators Welcome...best viewing from start/finish area.

Awards/Prizes:

Awards ceremony will be held following completion of all competitors. (Approximately 11:00am). Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category in all distances, as well as top three male and female finishers overall.
All awards must be picked up at the race and will not be mailed.
